Who are we?
Academic Clinicians’ Management Services (ACMS) is the operating name of Sunnybrook Hospital University of Toronto Clinic (SHUTC). SHUTC was created in 1967. It was built on the concept of a physician-governed, departmental or divisional practice plan structure for medical and dental staff at Sunnybrook Hospital. SHUTC was incorporated under the laws of the Province of Ontario as a non-profit organization in June 1973.
Throughout the years, ACMS has continually met the challenges of and adapted to a rapidly changing environment while providing non-medical professional management, financial and accounting services to over 400 clinicians and their support staff. It currently administers an annual budget in excess of $150 million. In addition to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, ACMS provides services to clinicians at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute and Women’s College Hospital, as well as to a number of Alternative Funding Plans.
ACMS operates in a dynamic environment and consistently seeks more efficient ways for delivery of our services and enhancement of the quality of our services.
