History
1966 - Formation of Medical Staff Association at Sunnybrook Hospital.
1967 - Formation of Sunnybrook Hospital University of Toronto Clinic (SHUTC), replacing the Medical Staff Association.
1973 - Incorporation of Sunnybrook Hospital University of Toronto Clinic (SHUTC) as a non-profit organization. A twelve-member Board of Directors was established.
1973 - SHUTC signed agreements with Sunnybrook Hospital and the Governing Council of the University of Toronto. The University turned over full authority of management of the Clinic to the SHUTC Board of Directors. All fees from professional activities of medical and dental staff were turned over to SHUTC and a percentage of residual (if any), defined as the excess of income over expenses, was to be allocated to research within Sunnybrook Hospital. The Hospital agreed to provide space, facilities and supplies to SHUTC for its operation and agreed to transfer to SHUTC all sums paid to it by the Ministry of Health with respect to out-patient visits. In return, SHUTC agreed to reimburse the Hospital for such services.
2003 - SHUTC changed its operating name to Academic Clinicians’ Management Services. Its legal name continues to be Sunnybrook Hospital University of Toronto Clinic.
